Scarlett Johansson - American Actress and singer (born in New York City on the 22nd of November 1984) Her range of talents in acting has earned the world awe, from dramas of the past, to thrillers and adventure. Johansson was the child of a film director and an architect. The family is from New York City. Hunter, her twin brother, and she were the youngest of four kids. When she was a kid she was able to begin acting. In fact, by 7 years old she was already auditioning for a number of commercials. She joined the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute shortly after, and later was a student at the Professional Children's School, Manhattan to continue her training. In the age of eight, she starred with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry and, at the age of nine she made her first film appearance in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson was next seen on screen in Just Cause (1996), however she was Manny & Lo 1996 that gave her her breakthrough. The film is about two young girls that are running away. The Horse Whisperer (1998) Johansson's role, which is the role of a teenager with a disfigurement, was hailed by reviewers. In the following years, she gained fame for her role as the cynical teenage Rebecca In Ghost World. While she made her on-stage debut in Wildflower she was also working in various projects throughout the USA. She was a graduate of her Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
